October, 2007
A few months ago I came up with the brilliant idea to pre-write my monthly letters. This was all, you'll understand, in the interest of
becoming a more efficient, more organized, more productive writer.
It didn't work.
I wrote about October back in August. I even sent the info on to Willa the Web Goddess. Unfortunately my usual Death to Electronics vibe couldn't
let the opportunity pass to totally screw me up.
I blame my new wireless connection. I blame Vista, the worst operating system yet to issue forth from the hallowed halls of Microsoft. I
blame–well, clearly I blame everything but myself.
The truth? I guess it just wasn't meant to be. I am not efficient. I am not organized. I am not terribly productive. I am a scattered,
enthusiastic, easily distracted knitting writer who is currently in the middle of a new book, a new pair of socks, and the world's
biggest To Be Read stack.
I was going to write about Halloween and ghosts and how many times I've gone out of my way to put myself in the path of ghosts and
how many times I've been disappointed when said ghosts didn't take the bait. I was going to reminisce about the wonderful days of
Trick or Treat but Kali did it better than I ever could. I was going to ask you if you had any close encounters with the spirit
world and if you'd pop over to my blog and share them with everyone.
Instead I'll just wish you and yours a magickal, mystical, suitably scary Happy Halloween and remind you:
- New and wonderful essay from Kali, our Food Goddess
- New contest here
- New contest here too
And thank you for being there.
